Chinese president Xi Jinping’s visit to Rwanda has heralded more than a dozen trade deals between the countries, as part of China’s push to expand its Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
Xi was in Rwandan capital Kagame for two days this week, holding talks with president Paul Kagame and signing 15 deals including loans for new roads, hospital renovations and the development of Rwanda’s new Bugasera airport.
