Cyber attacks are costing African organisations $3.5bn a year, according to a report.
The African Cyber Security Report 2017, by consultants Serianu, found more than nine in 10 organisations in Africa were operating “below the security poverty line”, defined as not having the skills, resources or funding to detect and respond to threats, while 96% of cyber security incidents either go unreported or unsolved.
