CIPS' #iBuy wins student engagement award

CIPS has won the Memcom award for Best Student Engagement Project with its #iBuy website, launched this year.

The Memcom Professional Association Events Membership Excellence trophy was presented to CIPS director Cath Hill at the annual awards event, held in County Hall, London.

The #iBuy website and campaign features videos of young procurement professionals engaging with the items they buy, from Christmas lights for London markets to dairy items for cruise ships and safety workwear for National Grid.

The website includes interviews about how they became a buyer, and gives advice for those interested in pursuing a career in procurement, such as how to get qualified or get a job.

“We are thrilled to have won this award for our #iBuy student engagement project. Working with our partners Haymarket, the #iBuy campaign has brought a fresh and innovative way to showcase procurement as an excellent career choice,” said Hill. “The project has been extremely well received within the procurement community across the globe as well as with schools and careers advisers.

“The icing on the cake now is to have been recognised by our fellow membership peers by receiving this award.”

Mecom Professional Association Events provides networking and knowledge and insights exchange for senior leaders from membership organisations.
