Emirates Steel and Vale agree long-term iron deal

UAE state-owned steel producer Emirates Steel has signed a four-year contract to receive iron ore pellets for its Abu Dhabi plant from Brazilian mining giant Vale.

Vale has been a major supplier to Emirates Steel, which uses around 6m tonnes of the pellets a year, since 2007. Emirates Steel said the agreement would strengthen the strategic partnership between the two.
