A lack of knowledge across Africa delayed Nigeria signing up to the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), according to the Nigerian ambassador’s lead negotiator.
Speaking to BBC World’s Money Daily, Chiedu Osakwe said issues such as suspicions between countries on motives for signing up to the agreement and varying levels of development were the reasons Nigeria had previously not signed up.
