The Kenyan government has announced a target to pay suppliers within 60 days as part of reforms to public procurement.
In his budget finance minister Henry Rotich said local suppliers would be supported in public procurement, centralised purchasing will be boosted, and the law should be amended to stop abuse of buying power in the private sector.
