The Philippine government has shipped back 69 containers of household waste and electronic garbage which was illegally dumped in the country in 2013.
President Rodrigo Duterte independently organised the transport of the waste from storage at Subic Bay Freeport in Malacañang back to Canada. The Canadian government paid for the shipping expenses, according to the state-run Philippines News Agency (PNA). The ship set sail on the 31 May.
