Chinese scientists have developed new rice strains that can grow in saltwater conditions.
The Saline-Alkali Tolerant Rice Research and Development Centre in Qingdao, Shandong Province, has planted around 300 new strains of saltwater-tolerant rice in an experiment to find “resilient, high-yield” varieties.
