An investigation carried out by the Fair Work Ombudsman (FWO) found a labour-hire company had failed to correctly compensate tomato pickers for their individual work.
Inspectors found Brisbane-based company Agri-Labour Australia had paid some workers a group piecework rate between December 2017 and April 2018, despite having piecework agreements in place for workers to be paid based on individual productivity.
