The Liberal-led coalition government has been urged to build new coal plants as Scott Morrison is re-elected prime minister after what was dubbed the “climate election”.
Ahead of the election, a survey by Lowy Institute Poll found more than 60% of Australians agreed with the sentiment that "global warming is a serious and pressing problem. We should begin taking steps now even if this involves significant cost".
