Queensland has announced increased efforts to tackle plastic pollution through an $100m investment in the waste management sector and a ban on single-use plastics.
Leeanne Enoch, minister for environment and Great Barrier Reef, proposed the plan to ban single-use plastics with the introduction of legislation in 2020, following an “extensive consultation with the community”.
