Zimbabwe procurement body seeks greater powers

The Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (PRAZ) is seeking additional powers to grant it more effective oversight of public procurement after the coronavirus pandemic revealed weaknesses in the system. 

PRAZ, which was formerly known as the State Procurement Board, was created in 2017 to ensure transparency, fairness, honesty, cost-effectiveness and competition within public procurement.
