GCC leaders have been urged to streamline government procurement and build resilient supply chains as their economies struggle with “dual shocks” brought about by the coronavirus pandemic and sliding oil prices.
A report by Strategy& said the twin effects of containment measures, with the associated supply chain disruptions, and the fall in oil prices to their lowest levels in 17 years were hitting GCC member finances hard.
