South Africa is betting on a programme of intensive infrastructure development to boost its economy following the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
President Cyril Ramaphosa told the opening of the inaugural Sustainable Infrastructure Development Symposium of South Africa (SIDSSA) that the country’s economy is expected to shrink by at least 7% compared to anticipated growth of 1% before the pandemic.
