The US has banned shipments of palm oil from Malaysian-owned Sime Darby Plantation (SDP), one of the world’s biggest producers, over allegations of forced labour.
US Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) Office of Trade issued a Withold Release Order, which instructs US ports to detain palm oil and products containing palm oil produced by SDP or its subsidiaries.
