Woolworths' purchase of PFD 'won't limit competition'

Australia’s competition watchdog has given the go-ahead to a deal that will see supermarket chain Woolworths acquire a majority stake in wholesale food distributor PFD Food Services.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission’s (ACCC) approval of Woolworths’ purchase of a 65% stake in PFD came as a surprise given that in January the watchdog expressed concerns about the impact on suppliers.
