African countries push for roadmap on climate financing

African nations at the COP26 summit have been pushing for talks on a possible $700bn financing deal that would help developing countries adapt to climate change.

Tanguy Gahouma-Bekale, chair of the African Group of Negotiators on Climate Change, said nations needed the funds to complete the transition to greener economies required to keep global heating to 1.5C.
