Infrastructure needs investment to enable economic recovery

The African Union (AU) has urged nations to invest in infrastructure to stimulate the continent’s post-pandemic recovery.

Raila Odinga, high representative for infrastructure development in Africa at the AU, said the creation of an infrastructure fund would complement other efforts such as the African Development Bank-hosted NEPAD Infrastructure Project Preparation Facility, and would build on the African Continental Free Trade Area (ACFTA).
