German carmaker Porsche is to set up an assembly plant in Malaysia to produce sports cars for the local market in a bid to shift some of its vehicle production out of Europe.
Porsche said it would partner with Malaysian company Sime Darby Berhard in the venture. The Volkswagen-owned carmaker aims to strengthen its presence in emerging markets within Southeast Asia.
