The transition to a low-carbon economy “cannot be rushed” and will “take time and require, sober, thoughtful planning”, the first ever Middle East and North Africa Climate Week (MENACW) conference was told.
Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, minister of industry and advanced technology and special envoy for climate change for the UAE, said the “push to divest from hydrocarbons” had led to a “supply crunch that is having the biggest impact on the most exposed”.
