Technological advances mean it’s becoming commonplace for all of us to pick up our email anywhere, anytime (worst luck). So while this means you can check messages on your commute or interrupt your weekend with a quick look online – it also means you can make the mistake of firing off a drunken email to the boss.
Google has cottoned on to this and come up with a risk management strategy to protect you (at the weekends at least). “Mail Goggles” forces users to take a sobriety test when trying to send late-night weekend messages. And how exactly does it do this? “By making you solve a few simple math problems after you click send to verify you're in the right state of mind,” says the official Google blog which made the announcement.
Would you find this useful? Have you ever sent an email while inebriated that you later regretted?
