Is supply chain work on the rise?

1 April 2009
It’s a tough time to be graduating and looking for a job – but this report from University of Houston’s CT Bauer College of Business may be some relief to those who aspire to enter the procurement field. The US institution names supply chain as one of the types of job for which opportunities are actually growing in the downturn, as businesses look for savings. It seems the profession is getting more of a following among students too. Last month alone, 20 students at Bauer declared a second major in supply chain, a field that the university had struggled to attract students to in the past. Have you also noticed a rising interest in supply chain? Is enough being done to encourage the next generation of buyers?
