As people keep a tighter watch on personal expenses in the downturn, it seems the key phrases familiar in the procurement profession are being uttered more and more.
Take the case of a moneysupermarket.com ad running in newspapers right now. In big black letters, it tells readers to “Squeeze your suppliers”. No mistaking the message to shop around for the best home energy deal (preferably, the company will say, using its price comparison website). My point is, it’s a saying that is very familiar to buyers but perhaps isn’t often uttered by ma and pa.
It got us at SM thinking, what are the other buying mantras that the public should be following more in the downturn?
