The international downturn - what is your experience?

2 April 2009
As this week’s G20 summit in London highlights, the economic woes we are experiencing in the UK are also being felt in the rest of the world. And when I spoke to buyers around the world for this latest feature in SM the message was much the same – unpredictable supply markets, reduced purchasing power, volatile exchange rates and a greater focus on procurement’s response to the crisis. Many people blame the media for exacerbating the troubles in order to sell newspapers or drive ratings. But we want to follow your experiences throughout the crisis, not just during the current poor times, but out the other side too. I urge you to post your experiences of the downturn below, and over the next few months we will return to the topic to see if the situation has improved and how you have dealt with it.
