Your chance to give some advice

28 April 2009
Our adviser page was found to be one of the most popular among readers in our recent survey, and we know there is a hunger for buyers to share experience and best practice with their peers. So we are opening up the questions we are sent by readers to you, so you can impart your own words of wisdom to them, to give them a speedy response before they appear later in the magazine. Here’s a recent one we received from a buyer in the public sector: “I am interested in expanding my knowledge of procurement and supply chain management through gaining some international experience. Ideally I'd like to undertake a secondment to USA based company or state/federal procurement team. The main area of work I've been involved in for the past 10 years has been procurement and management contracts particularly those involving training and services, but I am willing to apply myself to any area of purchasing and supply chain management. I don't know if many people have chosen this particular route so I'd be grateful for any information on how to source appropriate opportunities.” Senior contract manager – Edinburgh Do you have any advice for this reader?
