More knowledge, more value

Putting procurement at the heart of business is the core theme of Richard Masser’s presidency of CIPS.

And a profession whose best people generate $1.6million of value for their business every year, where top procurement teams deliver seven times return on investment and where global public sector procurement represents up to 20 per cent of worldwide GDP, deserves the best possible communications.

CIPS CEO David Noble says that ‘knowledge is fundamental to the success of the profession’, and Richard Masser stresses how ‘it is value that enables a business to achieve its objectives and deliver success’.

It is in this spirit of knowledge and value and helping you to have a strategic, frontline role in business that we have completely overhauled the Supply Management brand communications.

We have reinvigorated the look, feel, quantity and quality of the news, features, opinion and analysis you see in the magazine and online.

The next full 52-page issue of the magazine will be published in January, unveiling a fresh appearance and updated approach to content, which will be bolder and more challenging, as well as broader and deeper. The combined magazine and online offering will cover more issues from more locations in more depth.

The launch of the new website will coincide with the release of the magazine and will be found at This means you will be able to find all your news, opinion and analysis in the same place you go to for knowledge, training, qualifications, information on CIPS events and more.

In the UK members will continue to receive a printed magazine, and for our global members we are making a huge investment, extending the value of the proposition with increased local digital content.

We’ll continue to publish the daily digital bulletin every weekday, and boost it with extra weekly analysis content and a big rise in the number of stories from Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa. Plus in addition to a general increase in articles from those regions, there will be yet more from those areas that are made exclusively available to CIPS members, and sent out in regional weekly e-newsletters.
