“Do you think there are some people I should meet?”
Those were the famous last words uttered by Dr. Marta Andrecka to CIPS Global Board of Trustee member, Craig Lardner, before departing for her holiday to Australia.
What came next was 12 hours of presenting to more than 500 people, comprising of 11 unique and customized sessions over the course of 10 days and 3,500 kilometers.
Boasting a resume that features a Master of Laws and a PhD, Marta is considered one of Europe’s leading academics on public procurement matters. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the Copenhagen University and also works as a procurement consultant on a variety of major projects.
With the support of BravoSolution, Bid Energy, Academy Global, Local Government Procurement, Michael Page and the University of South Australia, Dr. Andrecka lent her wisdom and shared insights at four CIPS Branch events in Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales, five universities, State Government departments and Local Government’s council groups.
Topics covered include procurement trends developing in Europe that are soon to affect Australia, leveraging her public sector expertise to infer what some of the implications for the private sector might be, with particular focus on innovation, human rights issues and different Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives been witnessed in the European Union as well as in our region.
