‘Pula Madibogo’ - we lift as we rise
CIPS Africa is launching a pilot of its new Mentorship Programme ('Pula Madibogo' - we lift as we rise') in South Africa shortly. Once the programme is running successfully in South Africa, it will be launched and rolled
out to the other African countries in due course.
Pilot
This pilot will be a one year long programme, consist of 20 selected and trained mentees along with just over 20 mentors.
Mentees
The programme is targeted at rising stars in procurement and supply.
Mentors
Mentors will be experienced senior managers – typically already MCIPS or FCIPS, who are passionate about the profession and would like to give back to the procurement community. Mentors will be matched carefully
with mentees, in terms of the needs identified by the mentee.
Focus of the programme
The focus will be on leadership, governance, 'boardroom' skill, ethics, strategic thinking, as well as the technical (supply chain/procurement) skills required by individuals to succeed in senior-level procurement managerial
positions.
Selection process
This pilot will target only 20 mentees, and the selection process will be stringent. The following must be submitted by all applicants wishing to be considered by 05 April 2013 to carin.stoltz-urban@cips.org.za
1. The completed mentee application form
2. An essay why they should be selected to be included in this prestigious programme
3. A reference letter from their employer
4. CIPS Sourcing Knowledge Questionnaire (SKQ) results
