The Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply’s annual review is now available to view online. The report highlights CIPS activities over the last year, including a message from CIPS CEO David Noble, case studies, council members and a financial summary.
Last year was very exciting and successful for CIPS, having opened a Southern Africa office, along with another hub in Dubai and plans for a more permanent presence throughout Middle East North Africa. CIPS Australasia office went from strength to strength after a very successful turn out to the Annual Conference and high numbers of membership. Membership grew by 18,554 in 2010; bringing the worldwide total members to 65,000.
Forms of communication are changing and CIPS is embracing the trend by utilising social networking, such as Facebook, Twitter and Linked In. The importance of these networks is being realised along with the value of members opinions.
David Noble, CEO of CIPS, said, "CIPS is second to none in terms of integrity, professionalism and standards. With the formation of our second full service subsidiary and the opening of the office in UEA, CIPS has become increasingly a global enterprise. I am convinced that both the profession's and CIPS' time has arrived."
