CIPS 16 May 2011

CIPS and Supply Solutions have developed the Oil and Gas Corporate Award.

CIPS has been working closely with supply partner, Supply Solutions to develop the industry specific, Oil and Gas Corporate Award. The work based learning, designed by CIPS, delivers top-level competency skills and identifies skills gaps within an organisation.

The programme appeals to various sectors within oil and gas. not just oil producers and operators but also specialist tier 1 service providers, managed service providers and offshore accommodation service companies. Any organisation from operator to SME can put one or two people on a training programme with other oil & gas companies from the different tiers across the industry. The award will benefit anyone within the Oil and Gas supply chain by helping attendees to gain a deeper understanding of procurement adds value to the sector.

David Noble, CIPS CEO said “Our basic corporate award programmes have proved very popular over the years, so I’m keen to shout about the successes of this sector-specific programme as a new way of offering the award. Because the challenges are unique, the training will add real value to the procurement function and ultimately to the strategic aims of each organisation involved.”

The next planned programme begins in June 2011, and others are planned throughout the year. To sign up to the programme contact Neil Young, Senior Consultant – Business Development, CIPS on 01780 756777.
