CIPS become corporate patron of the Peter Jones Foundation

The Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) is helping Peter Jones CBE, of Dragons’ Den fame, promote enterprise and entrepreneurship amongst today’s youth.

CIPS has pledged support to the Peter Jones Foundation by becoming the charity’s latest corporate patron.

The two organisations have worked closely together in recent years on the CIPS Negotiation Challenge, which this year brought together young people from colleges across the country to compete in a pioneering business simulation game, held at Heathrow Airport.

CIPS will also be dedicating time and resource into another of the Peter Jones Foundations initiatives, Tycoon in Schools, which sees school children all over the country launching their own real-life companies with funding received by the Peter Jones Foundation. CIPS will be providing students with  business guidance and industry expertise from CIPS members to help the young entrepeneurs maximise the potential of their business idea.

Peter Jones Foundation CEO Alice Barnard said: “We are extremely pleased that CIPS has joined us as a corporate patron. Having the support of such esteemed organisations is great for us and shows that industry leaders are recognising the vital work that we do.

“We have collaborated with CIPS for many years on initiatives that really have helped raise the profile of enterprise education in this country and we’re very much looking forward to working even more closely in the future.”
