The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) and ITN Productions Industry News are producing a news and current affairs-style programme, “Procurement: People, Planet, Profit: The Living Supply Chain” launching in October 2019.
CIPS, the world’s largest procurement and supply professional organisation, and ITN Productions Industry News will be co-creators of the programme designed to raise awareness about the importance and value that procurement and supply professionals contribute to business, society and our everyday lives.
Production has started and the first film featuring Malcolm Harrison, Group CEO, CIPS is available to view.
Anchored by national TV presenter Kate Garraway, “Procurement: People, Planet, Profit: The Living Supply Chain” will address perceptions of the profession beyond cost cutting by highlighting the highly strategic and intellectually demanding roles within it. Providing a greater understanding of the issues affecting the profession, it will explore the key themes driving the sector forward with particular focus on technology and innovation, ethical and responsible sourcing, sustainable and environmental procurement, education and skills, risk management and unlocking value for organisations.
Combining key interviews and reports “Procurement: People, Planet, Profit: The Living Supply Chain” will launch at CIPS annual conference in October and will form part of an extensive communications campaign featuring CIPS members and professional partners, as well as journalists, writers and bloggers.
Malcolm Harrison, Group CEO, CIPS, said: “This is a great opportunity to help inform, educate and promote our profession. This is a really exciting profession to be at the heart of right now, focusing on topics that really matter to society and guiding organisations through very challenging times. We look forward to working on this important programme”
