CIPS Southern Africa signs an MOU with PURCO

CIPS Southern Africa signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Purchasing Consortium of the Higher Educational sector in Southern Africa (PURCO SA).

PURCO focuses on providing maximum benefit for its members, which includes a number of public Universities as well as other bodies in education and training, through collaborative purchasing and professional support.

CIPS SA on the other hand, strives towards professionalizing the procurement profession and offers a wide range of qualifications, training solutions and other resources, to support this goal.

In terms of the agreement between PURCO and CIPS SA, CIPS SA will waive its once-off registration fee for all PURCO SA members upon receipt of proof of PURCO SA membership.

The two parties will collaborate on professional development initiatives and educational matters and CIPS SA will also offer discount on professional services including its public training courses, to PURCO members.

The two parties will also participate in each others’ conferences and other events and in general promote each other to members.

It is believed that both parties can benefit greatly from this new partnership.  PURCO members are invited to contact Ms. Carin Stoltz-Urban, Head of Professional Development and Education at CIPS SA, should they require further information or would like CIPS SA to make a presentation on its offering, to them.
