Dr Douglas Boateng to undertake a CIPS Sponsored Distinguished Lecture Series Tour in Southern Africa

In an effort to draw attention to the rapidly evolving strategic importance of supply chain management, plus its inextricable link to Africa’s relative product quality and service delivery challenges, Dr Douglas Boateng shall be delivering a Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (aka CIPS) sponsored distinguished lectures series at various universities and centers in Southern Africa between the 8th and 12th of August 2011.

According to Mckinsey and other international independent experts and research institutions, Supply chain management is among the fastest growing profession in the world. This talk hopes to highlight the changing role of procurement in managing a supply chain network.

Dr Boateng is an elected Fellow of at least 5 leading international professional institutions including the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply; UK’s Institute of Directors; UK’s Chartered Management Institute; UK Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, Institute of Operations Management and the Institute of Business Consulting.

He is also the Chairman of CIPS Best Practice Adjudication Panel, President of the Institute of Operations Management Africa, and Founding Chairman, the West African Institute for Supply Chain Leadership, (aka WAISCL). WAISCL is a public private educational partnership aimed at building capacity in supply chain management in the West African sub region. Dr Boateng is also directly and indirectly linked to various academic institutions including UNISA’s SBL.
