CIPS Australasia – moving forward and planning for growth
As CIPS continues to expand around the globe, it is planning for significant growth and development in the Asia – Pacific region, of which CIPS Australia is a fundamental part. With the growing importance of procurement and supply in the region, CIPS recognises the importance of creating a strong hub to meet future challenges.
The next phase of growth and development will see CIPS Australasia capitalise on the work already done to now move it to full maturity. There will be a focus on operational excellence and efficiency, leveraging the benefits available from the whole CIPS Group globally.
I am particularly pleased that Craig Lardner, CIPS Congress member, Fellow of the Institute and a highly experienced senior practitioner with a distinguished track record with companies including BOC in the UK and George Western Foods in Australia, will join us as Interim Managing Director of CIPSA.
Craig Lardner said: “This is a really exciting challenge to be taking on and I am looking forward to continuing to develop CIPS in the region. I am passionate about the profession and have worked closely with CIPS throughout my career. I am looking forward to being able to influence its’ growth more directly in this role and accessing the assets of the group to deliver our unique value to our growing member community across Australasia.
We recognise the future opportunities in this region and we want to be in a position to maximise these as we continue to grow. CIPS has never been stronger with its global community of over 94,000 and continuing to grow year on year.
The Asia Pacific region is fundamental to the future of the institute and I personally look forward to my Australian visits later in the year when in July I shall attend the CPO Forum in July and of course in October for the 9th CIPS Australasia Annual Conference.
