New guidance published for public procurement practitioners on human rights in the supply chain

CIPS 24 May 2017

The guide sees a collaboration between CIPS and partners London Universities Purchasing Consortium (LUPC), the Business, Human Rights and the Environment Research Group at the University of Greenwich (BHRE) and Advanced Procurement for Universities and Colleges (APUC).

A guidance document is available for practitioners in the public sector on protecting human rights in the supply chain and offers encouragement for buyers, decision-makers and opinion-formers to identify and understand the risks, develop appropriate mitigating actions and promote respect for human rights in the supply chain.

Sections of the guide set out what the problems are faced by the public sector, why the issue is so important, and how  good practice can help minimise the risks.

The guide has been launched at the LUPC & APUC conference today
