PKO Bank Polski, one of the biggest financial institutions in Poland and one of the largest banks in Central Europe, has received a Procurement Excellence Programme (PEP) award from The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS), the global professional body for supply chain management. The award ceremony took place at the Bank's headquarters in Warsaw on 7th July 2021.
Commended at standard level, the assessors highlighted the company’s professionalism and ethical conduct in procurement operations and this follows their previous award in 2016. The award is also a testimony of a great performance during hard, pandemic times and willing to keep rising to new challenges and driving improvement within the organisation and beyond.
PEP is a globally-recognised award presented to those organisations which demonstrate excellence in their procurement and supply chain activities. The award drives regular improvements, value across supply chains and highlights procurement’s role as a fundamental part of an organisation’s strategy and effectiveness and is assessed in the following five areas: Leadership and Organization, Strategy, Human Resources, Processes and Systems, and Efficiency Management.
The team provided strong evidence for the award and demonstrated further robust improvements and developments compared to the Bank’s 2016 submission.
PKO Bank Polski joins thus the community of over 200 companies around the world to achieve this level of excellence in their procurement policies, procedures and people.
Director of the Procurement Department of PKO Bank Polski, Tomasz Olak said, “Granting this distinction, the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply operating in Great Britain is the largest international institution associating professionals in the area of procurement.
“Granting the certificate is particularly important to us and is the crowning achievement of our work, and its maintenance motivates us to further improve our competences.”
Alan Martin, Head of Procurement Excellence at CIPS said, “Striving for even more improvements and developments from 2016, demonstrates the team’s continuous focus on good procurement principles and always striving to do better.”
“Mr Olak and his team has shown tenacity and resilience during challenging times, providing strong leadership and a new era for the business. I wish them every success for the future.”
