New CIPS board member gets top Government procurement job

John Collington, currently Group Commercial Director of the Home Office has been appointed Head of Procurement in the Cabinet Office's Efficiency and Reform Group.

He takes up his post on the 1 September, and will be leading a cross-government approach to procurement and supply chain management.

Collington said, “There has never been a greater need for smarter, aggregated approaches to government spending on commodities. Pockets of best practice already exist within Whitehall, but so much more can be achieved.”
