The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) has awarded Corporate Certification – Standard, to The Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (RBCH) for achieving high standards in their procurement and supply chain processes and policies.

CIPS Corporate Certification – Standard is a globally-recognised procurement accreditation that recognises good procurement governance for effective supply chain management, offering value across supply chains with good ethical and sustainable standards.

RBCH received accreditation because they displayed a strong and robust leadership style with a clear and understood strategy across teams that supported the business and were supported by senior management. Their people processes were of a high standard displaying a motivated and well-regarded team. Their processes and systems met the criteria set out in the certification after rigorous testing.

David Noble, Group CEO, CIPS comments: “RBCH has worked hard towards this certification and shown a clear passion throughout the process. The strength of their procurement and supply chain division has resulted in many good practices being adopted and as a consequence, provided a strong and robust foundation for continued improvement.”

Eddie Rathbone, Associate Director, Commercial Services, RBCH comments: “I am delighted that our team’s hard work has been recognised by this highly valued international award which, in turn, reflects the teams’ professional dedication and continued support of the organisation in delivery of service improvement and value for money. The experience and journey with CIPS has provided a solid foundation for continued improvement and to align with the NHS Standards of Procurement.”

Stuart Hunter, Finance Director, RBCH comments: “We have a responsibility as an NHS Foundation Trust to ensure that we have checks on all our spending to ensure we get the best value and protect our front line services. The CIPS award is testament to the hard work that our Procurement & Supply Chain Management Teams have undertaken in addressing national guidelines set out by Lord Carter’s report for procurement improvement. I congratulate the team and thank CIPS for their part in working with us to achieve the CIPS Corporate Certification Standard.”
