The Wholesale and Retail ( W & R) SETA has signed a Service Level Agreement with CIPS SA, for the finalisation of two occupational qualifications, namely that of the development of Purchasing Officer (OFO 332302) and Supply and Distribution Manager (OFO 132401). CIPS SA has officially been appointed by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations, as its Development Quality Partner (DQP) for these qualifications. These qualifications will complete the learning pathway for procurement professionals on the South African NQF, as the Level 5 (new NQF) and Level 8 (new NQF) qualifications have already been registered on the NQF in December 2009.
“'We are very excited about this partnership and look forward to working with the W & R SETA on this project. The W & R SETA has, through the funding of this project, shown their commitment to the professionalization of the Supply Chain Management profession” says Carin Stoltz-Urban, Head of Professional
Development and Education for CIPS Southern Africa.
Ms. Abeeda Holdstock will also assist CIPS SA to finalise the two qualifications for registration on the NQF and if all goes according to plan, this will take place
by February 2012.
André Coetzee, Managing Director of CIPS Southern Africa stated that CIPS' leadership in this project and focus to “think global but act local” once again
highlights CIPS SA's commitment to and pride in the profession.
